Description |
1st ED. 270pp. 47 b/w photos & illus. vg cond. dj good, price clipped, lightly chipped on edges. An account of the author's archaeological dives and researches in many parts of the world - the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. The wrecks he describes are the Artemis, a German supply ship in Milos Bay destroyed by Allied bombers in 1942, an 18th century wreck off the Mexican coast, a wreck off Ceylon (Sri Lanka) found by Arthur C Clarke and Mike Wilson and a 1st Century BC wreck off Antikythera. He explains that a wreck should be approached in the same spirit as a land site, and every stage of its investigation should be as carefully undertaken and precisely recorded. |
