Description |
Size 36cm x 51cm (14" x 20"). The Italian Dreadnought Leonardo da Vinci was sunk and turn-turtled by an internal explosion at Taranto in August 1916. The five gun turrets were detached and them the ship refloated in 1919. Three turrets of three guns weighing nearly 700 tons and two of two guns weighing 500 tons were then raised by a special patented system using a circular cassion. |
